19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his first title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a challenging period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.
Success also signifies he has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the top level was finished.
But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair traded break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet rescued four early chances in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
